The BackBlast:
When you mix thoughts of the just completed World Series and Halloween – you get the Haunted 7 of Diamonds.
7 PAX showed up at Copper Beach on a cool morning – not much wind, but 28 degrees was enough to motivate you to get moving, and moving we did.
WARM-A-RAMA
SSH IC x 26, IPW IC x 15, LBAC forward with thumbs up IC x 10, LBAC reverse with thumbs down IC x 10, Willie Mays Hayes IC x 10, and Mountain Climbers IC x 21
Then we moseyed around the track to the south – with an Indian Run
The THANG
I’m not a Dodgers fan, but have always followed baseball, so the 7 of Diamonds seemed right. But with Halloween on deck this week, it was the right to time to modify the normal.
With orange pilons spread out to form a large square across the parking lot, we set out as follows.
Round one – 7 Burpees at each of the 4 stops
Round two – 14 Jump Squats
Round three – 21 Merkins (nothing more American than baseball and pushups, so….)
Round four – 28 Bradley Coopers (some say WWII situps, but not in SLC)
Travel to each corner was as follows (this is the haunted aspect)
To stop one: Run Backward (easier to see who/what is chasing you)
To stop two: Broad jump
To stop three: Sprint (hard like you are going for a triple)
To stop four: Bear Crawl (remember that time you tripped over third and had to crawl…)
PAX Planked while waiting for others to return for each round.
We returned to the Flag for a warp-up, consisting of….a relaxing listen to the Ghostbusters song. Only, we don’t like to relax, so we did lunge steps throughout the song, only breaking to do a burpee everytime the word “Ghostbusters” was said.
COT
Congrats to Stimpy for the new job – starting today.
Safe travels to Coco and family as they working through weather and car trouble across the country.
Will look at conditions of the trail today to see if we can get TTR tomorrow.
