The BackBlast:

With only 5 days until Christmas, I decided it was a good time for a good beatdown to a rockin” Christmas playlist!  I’m glad that Knope and Jimmy Choo showed up because this Q took a little while to put together.  Hopefully PAX elsewhere will take it and use it too!

Warm-o-Rama

Not too much because we started late (sorry) and I wanted to get after it so we could get through all the songs.

  • Side-Shuffle Hop
  • Willy Mays Hays
  • Grass Grabbers
  • Goofballs

The Thang

The exercises are over once the song is over no matter how far you get!

Run Rudolph Run (Chuck Berry) – Dora: 50 Merkins, 100 Bradley Coopers (AKA Big Boy Sit-Ups) 150 Squats while the other partner is running, then flapjack and the running partner picks up where the working partner left off.

Little Saint Nick (The Beach Boys) – Indian Run -carry the phone and speaker with you!

You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch (Thurl Ravenscroft) – Dealer’s Choice: everyone picks an exercise and calls it out every time he says “Mr. Grinch”.

Oh Come All Ye Faithful (Twisted Sister) – BLIMPS: 5 Burpees, 10 Lunges, 15 Imperial walkers (IC), 20 Merkins, 25 Plank jacks, 30 Squats. All OYO.   The song went a little long so we all started on a second BLIMP before it finished.

Little Drummer Boy (Bob Seger) – Seal Claps go for the whole song but switch between normal and overhead seal claps on every “pa-rum-pa-pum-pum.  Stay on the beat!

Jingle Bell Rock (Bobby Helms) – Squat Hold stay in an Al Gore and then come up and squat when you hear “jingle bell”.

Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree (Brenda Lee) – Hold plank and go around the circle each doing 10 Merkins.  Keep going until the song is over.

Go Tell It on the Mountain (Zach Williams) – 3:39 minutes of Mary: Bradley Coopers on the verse, Flutter Kicks on the chorus and bridge

This was a fun Christmas workout!  Doing the whole workout to music was a nice change of pace.

Merry Christmas, and God bless us, everyone!
