The BackBlast:

Catching the benefit of an unseasonably warm morning – 32 degrees with a light wind – made for a great morning at Copper Beach.

(If you haven’t heard the story of how an inland location – a park in the middle of a suburb in Herriman Utah – got the name Copper Beach, well then…look no further than the name of the park, Copper Creek Park, and then add to it the fact this park features a nice sand volley ball court that we’ve had the pleasure of dragging coupons and rucks through and you get the Beach part)

Today 3 PAX beat the FS to show up and get a little better.

WARM-A-Rama

5 Penalty Burpees OYO – we did these in honor of Kingpin who is out today and we are looking forward to his return.

SSH IC x 20

LBAC IC x 10 forward and reverse

Imperial Walker Multi-Pack IC 10 of each

  • IPW
  • Squat Walkers
  • Hillbillies
  • Short Hillbillies

Then Mosey around the track to the south – our first “Circle” of the day.

The Thang:

Circle Workout – starting with Clock Merkins

3 Merkins at each of the 12 hour positions on a clock. PAX held a plank and then rotated to each hour, doing 3 Merkins at each stop.

Then PAX moseyed around the big loop to the West of the park that takes you through the neighborhood.

We stopped 3 different times for a Circle Hold.  The PAX all planked while one person did the given exercise, then it rotated around the circle. The bonus – you get to work and perfect your planking skills!

  • Merkins 10
  • Plank Jacks 20
  • Monkey Humpers 20 (brief break from plank – PAX hold ankles with a slight squat, while the workout went around the circle)
  • Mountain Climbers 10
  • Diamond Merkins 10

After 3 rounds of Circle Holds and completing the big circle around the neighborhood, the PAX cruised back to Copper Beach.

Lucky for the PAX – a few minutes remained and extra value was in store.

Going to the picnic tables we did a quick descending ladder, focused still on the arms and shoulders

20 Dips and 10 Dirkins. Then descending the Dips by 4 and the Dirkins by 2.  (so 20, 16,12,8,4 and 10,8,6,4,2) the PAX pushed to the very end of the workout.

Strong work today by Frostbyte and Knope

COT/Announcements

We wrapped and remember Kingpin – sending wishes of health.  We also talked about Knope on the Q for Thursday at Prairie-doggin.  During the workout, Domo was mentioned…when we gonna see that guy?  Also, Frostbyte has an FNG lined up for Sunday.

Nothing prepares you to crush the middle of your work week like an early morning in the gloom.

Always a honor. YHC,

ThighMaster
