13 PAX Hit the Dirt Today at Sidewinder above Black Ridge Reservoir in Herriman.
When we started this AO several months ago, we weren’t sure if the PAX would grab on to it. Then we weren’t sure if we’d keep at it when the mornings got dark.
Now we have more guys than ever – double digits every week.
And, one lap isn’t enough for some.
And,when work and life say that 5:45am won’t work, PAX show up early.
Too Dark? Headlamps on. Boom.
The Thang: 4 PAX showed early at 5am for approximately a 3.3 mile loop. A couple PAX left, but a total of 10 ventured up Sidewinder in the dark for the main event. Chef B arrived a little late and took off on his own. In total 13 different PAX completed the loop today.
Bonus for Coco and Quickbooks for double laps.
Call me crazy award goes to: Quickbooks who wore a 30lb+ ruck for his first lap. Hero? Amazing? Stupid? Open for debate!
Beware – the trail bites back. Domo and Night Train took turns crashing in the dirt. Hoping that its just surface wounds and healing is quick. Over the summer, we’ve had a few falls, ankles, and a sprain – so let’s stay on our toes.
Missing? Trail heavyweights Thin Crust and Hollywood missed this week’s session. Hope to see you boys back soon.
Grateful to share trail running and the beautiful setting with you all. Thursday mornings are one of my favorites!
Rest up, Iron Pax is coming tomorrow.
